Maldives has long been known as the ultimate honeymoon destination owing to its mind-blowing topography and almost unmatched feeling of seclusion. However, it would be almost criminal to stereotype the archipelago – the country has something for everyone!

Given the overwhelming number of resorts in Maldives, picking one out for families can be especially difficult. We have devised a list to ease you from that burden!

Soneva Fushi

Soneva have set a certain standard of luxury when it comes to resorts in Maldives and Soneva Fushi is no exception. Located in a Baa Atoll, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, the resort is a must visit for everyone! With sprawling, multi bedroomed villas tucked away in tropical greenery – some even built to resemble treehouses, the accommodation has peace and tranquility written all over it. All villas come with their own swimming pool as well and have a butler on call 24/7.

There is no shortage of things to write about Soneva Fushi but what you came here for will most likely be the humongous and frankly, quite stunning children’s club – also known as the Den – the largest children’s club in all of Maldives and one of the best in the world. Here you will find imaginative designs from the piano floor to the roof lighting and countless activities including cooking classes, LEGO room, dress up room and music room amongst many other options. There are weekly activities along with pirate ships, two swimming pools and a library. Teens also have a separate lounge where activities like wildlife exploration and snorkeling expedition are provided.

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

Located on two islands and connected by a 500-meter bridge CONRAD is packed full of activities for couples as well as families. With massive beach and water villas, the island incorporates both sides of nature – earth and water and with over 150 villas to choose from, there are options for everyone.

With 12 restaurant and bars, the CONRAD boasts one of the highest number of dining establishments in comparison to other resorts in Maldives and the options are both highly varied and spectacular (this includes the first ever all glass underwater restaurant, Ithaa). Just like accommodation and dining options, the activities are also full of choices. There’s a gym, diving center, library, water sports center and of course what family resort would be complete without a Kid’s club – which, in CONRAD, is rather impressive. Things to do seem to keep sprouting in CONRAD and boredom is definitely not a feeling you will ever come across.

This, of course means the resort has ample of activities for children and adults alike including water activities, spas, gym, bars, restaurants. Children can be seen frolicking around the Komas Kid’s Club as well as the pool where water polo is a regular sport.
